As one of the region's leading orthopaedic surgeons specializing in shoulder and elbow injuries, Dr. Romeo uses state-of-the-art arthroscopic techniques to accelerate the recovery process for challenging conditions such as rotator cuff disease, shoulder instability, and elbow stiffness. Dr. Romeo is one of the few surgeons in the United States who routinely performs rotator cuff repairs, including revision repairs, using all arthroscopic techniques. In addition, Dr. Romeo performs more shoulder replacements than any surgeon in the state of Illinois and has designed an advanced shoulder replacement system for the treatment of arthritis.

Lifelong interests in science and sports have led to Dr. Romeo's pursuit of the most advanced methods to treat and restore the function of injured or arthritic shoulders and elbows. Dr. Romeo is a Fellow of the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Board Certified in 1995. He is also a member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Society, and the Illinois Orthopaedic Society. Because of his accomplishments, Dr. Romeo has been selected for the Best Doctors in America (Fourth Edition), as well as being named one of the top 500 physicians in Chicago by Chicago Magazine.

Dr. Romeo's other personal achievements include high school valedictorian, and he was a member of the University of Notre Dame football team.
