Central DuPage Hospital Recognized by
U.S. News & World Report

Ranked #37 in the United States for Orthopaedics

WINFIELD, Ill., July 13, 2007Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) in Winfield, Ill. has been recognized by U.S. News & World Reports in its "Best Hospitals for 2007" rankings. CDH is ranked 37th for orthopaedics in the nation.

The magazine reported that only 173 hospitals out of 5,462 evaluated met the specialty criteria recognition.

"Achieving this recognition is very exciting for our entire hospital community. We have always had a stellar reputation for our orthopaedics, so the award is well-deserved," says Luke McGuinness, Chief Executive Officer of CDH. "The hospital has been very supportive of orthopaedics and has expanded its capacity to meet the needs of our orthopedic patients and physicians."

According to U.S. News & World Report, ranking was determined from a number of criteria: volumes and types procedures, availability of nurses, advanced technology and recognition by professional bodies.

"Together with the orthopaedic physicians on the medical staff at CDH, we strive to provide excellent care for each and every patient," said Robert Friedberg, Vice President of Operations at CDH. "Being one of the largest joint replacement programs in Illinois allows us to become very skilled at caring for orthopaedic patients."

The 361-bed facility in Winfield, Ill. has been recognized as a Top 100 Hospital by Solucient, has received awards in Stroke Care, Critical Care, Patient Safety and Joint Replacement from HealthGrades and is a Most Wired Hospital.
