Joint Reconstruction Fellowship

Joint Reconstruction

The Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Joint Reconstruction Fellowship provides unparalleled clinical training and research opportunities in total joint replacement surgery, working with some of the pioneers and leaders in the field. With more than 2,000 procedures performed annually, the fellow will be exposed to a wide range of reconstructive procedures including a substantial volume of complex primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasties. The experience also includes exposure to minimally invasive surgical techniques, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, complex revision total hip and knee replacement, and the latest in implant materials.

The Joint Reconstruction Fellowship includes rotations at Rush in downtown Chicago and at Central DuPage Hospital Ambulatory Service Pavilion in Winfield, a western suburb of Chicago. The prospective fellow will be involved with the performance of 250-300 procedures during the year with approximately one third of cases being revision surgeries. Fellows also spend a full two days in the office per week in order to gain experience with pre and postoperative patient management.

With a research database that includes nearly 20 years of data, there is a plethora of clinical material for study. Support staff including research nurses, three full-time research assistants, and a statistician are available to assist you with your research endeavors. Basic science studies and retrieval analysis can also be arranged for fellows who desire a more intense research experience.

If you are considering a fellowship in total joint replacement surgery, we hope you will consider our training program. For an application or additional information on the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Joint Reconstruction Fellowship Program, please contact Ms. Pegy Arp, Fellowship Coordinator, at parp@rushortho.com.
