Dr. Jacobs concentrates his practice on hip and knee replacement surgery at Rush University Medical Center, where he serves as chairperson of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush Medical College.
Dr. Jacobs is especially interested in the materials used for prosthetic devices and has conducted research and published extensively on this topic. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is the recipient of several awards for his work in research.
In his spare time, Dr. Jacobs enjoys long distance cycling and playing the baritone saxophone.
Dr. Jacobs has consulting contracts with orthopaedic implant manufacturers regarding the development, regulation and testing of certain spine, knee and hip implant devices. He receives payments for these consulting services and his laboratory receives research funding. Additional information regarding these arrangements will be provided to you upon request.
