Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush sports medicine physician, Dr. Joshua Blomgren was recently featured on CBS Channel 2 discussing the use of "Power" wristbands. These small silicone bands claim to make the wearer stronger and more flexible, increase concentration, and ease aches and pains. Although there is no scientific data to back up the claims, the popular wristbands are selling for $29 each. Dr. Blomgren is skeptical of the wristbands. "There is nothing there to suggest that it would have any benefit, in terms of the claims it has to improve balance, focus, and concentration," he says. "It falls short of what I would expect it to do."
