Chicago Bulls' Team Physicians Address Player Rest and Recovery in Shorter Season

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush physicians are working closely with Bulls players and staff to discuss injury prevention. Three games in three nights' for the Chicago Bulls mean less time to rest and recover. According to the Bulls, this year's shortened NBA season will be a rigorous one and helping to minimize and prevent injury has been an organization-wide task.

Bulls' team physicians Dr. Brian Cole, orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, along with Dr. Kathleen Weber, women's sports medicine specialist, were featured on Comcast SportsNet to discuss the importance of rest and recovery for the Bulls players. Dr. Cole stated, with the shortened season, there is no luxury of rest and that's why we will continue to work closely with the Bulls to address recovery and injury prevention. Players need to focus on staying healthy by making sure they eat well and stay hydrated, added Dr. Weber.
