Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Providing Medical Coverage for the Chicago United Hoops Classic

The staff of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is proud to support the Chicago United Hoops Classic, a full court press to silence the violence. The Chicago United Hoops Classic will bring together Chicago's stand-out high school basketball players in a South Side vs West Side all-star game. The game will take place at the Sullivan Athletic Center on the DePaul University Campus on Saturday, April 30, 2011.

The event will honor the late Bulls' legend Norm Van Lier. Norm knew the West/South Side rivalry well but saw it as an opportunity to bring Chicago youth together not only to fight violence, but also to reward select students who make higher education a top priority. The event proceeds will benefit the Norm Van Lier Scholarship Fund and the Purpose Over Pain Organization. The Norm Van Lier Scholarship Fund assists students exclusively from the West Side and South Side neighborhoods of Chicago, providing them the opportunity of continued education.

The physicians and clinical staff of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush will provide medical coverage for all athletes participating in the event. As team physicians for the Chicago Bulls and DePaul Blue Demons, the physicians of MOR understand the demands placed on an athlete playing basketball at a competitive level and the importance of keeping them healthy and at the top of their performance level.
