Wrist Injury
Bears fans optimistic for a return this season by Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher shouldn't get their hopes up. Dr. Mark Cohen, Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush hand and wrist surgeon, says the dislocated wrist is one of the worst injuries a player can suffer.
"A dislocated wrist is even worse than a broken wrist from a healing standpoint," says Dr. Cohen. "It's a high energy and unusual injury, one which recovers very slowly because the ligaments recover more slowly than the bone heals after trauma."
Dr. Cohen says there's no way Urlacher can come back sooner than expected and likely will never regain full use of his wrist. His comments on the injury were run in an ABC 7 News Report. To view the full report, click on the link below.
