When looking for the physician who "wrote the book" on spine surgery, one could quite literally find it in Dr. David Fardon, spine specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Dr. Fardon's many accomplishments within spine care were recently featured in Becker's Orthopaedic & Spine Review, when he was named an "Industry Leader to Know."

Dr. Fardon's accomplishments are numerous. In addition to publishing three general public educational books, he is the coeditor of Orthopaedic Knowledge Update for Spine II, published by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society and used as a core curriculum text for graduate training in spine surgery. Dr. Fardon also served as the president of the North American Spine Society and was awarded the prestigious Selby Award for his Outstanding Contributions to Spine Care.
