MOR Shows Support for Field of Dreams
CHICAGO, IL. Five hundred women and men from the corporate, medical, health and fitness professions gathered March 4 to celebrate the work of Girls in the Game.
Field of Dreams, Girls in the Game's 14th Anniversary Gala, also honored four "Champions" for their role in changing the lives of more than 17,000 girls.
Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is a proud sponsor of the annual Field of Dreams event, and has worked with Girls in the Game for the past six years.
Several MOR physicians and staff members were in attendance at the event.
"We strongly support the mission of Girls in the Game to promote and provide sports and wellness programs for girls and young women," says Dr. Kathy Weber,
Director of Women's Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center.
"We believe that an active lifestyle is essential for girls to achieve and maintain optimal health."
The Champions honored in 2009 include: Sports Champion Christina Loukas, Olympic Diver; Health Champion Senator Iris Martinez, Illinois State Senate;
Leadership Champion Cheryle Jackson, President, Chicago Urban League; and Life Champion Kelly Amonte Hiller, Coach, Northwestern Women's Lacrosse.
