Girls in the Game® celebrated 15 years of helping to keep young girls fit and active while educating them on health, nutrition and the importance of self-confidence. Girls in the Game started as a dream, but has grown into an organization that has impacted thousands of young girls throughout Chicago. MOR sports medicine physician Dr. Kathy Weber serves as a board member and co-chair of the organization's largest fundraising event of the year, The Field of Dreams Gala. This year's event set record numbers in attendance and donations.
"I feel privileged to be a part of such a worthy organization. Being involved with GIG has been such a rewarding experience" said Dr. Weber. "I couldn't be happier with the success of the event."
The evening began with a silent auction of items donated by various Chicago companies, and was followed by the recognition of the "Girls in the Game Champions," four Chicago women that have proven to be standout role models for young girls throughout the city. The motto of the night was "Here to Play, Here to Stay" and everyone in attendance would agree that this organization will be making a difference for years to come.
