Adult and pediatric sports medicine physician Dr. Jeffrey Mjaanes was recently named the medical director for Shrek the Musical. The Tony and Drama Desk award-winning show will play a limited eight week engagement in Chicago beginning July 13, 2010, at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Chicago is the first stop on the First National Tour.
Dr. Mjaanes is also the medical director of Billy Elliot the Musical. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is proud to be the exclusive medical provider to all Billy Elliot cast and crew. The award winning show came to Chicago in March, with the run extended through January 15, 2011, at the Ford Oriental Theatre. The lead role of Billy Elliot is played by four rotating actors. The cast will perform six days a week, sometimes multiple performances per day. It will be a challenge to keep all cast members healthy, but Dr. Mjaanes is confident that he and the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush team can meet the show's demands. The cast and crew of Billy Elliot can rest assured that they are in the #1 orthopaedic hands in Chicagoland.
