DEERFIELD, Ill. - Trinity International University is pleased to announce that the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP), a program that prepares students for athletic training certification, at Trinity College has received the maximum continuing accreditation award of 10 years from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). This accreditation was preceded by a vigorous process of self-study and a site visit that took place in October 2008
The Director of the ATEP, Professor Karl Glass, puts this achievement into perspective, "The ATEP at TIU has always been a unique model of how a CAATE accredited program is supported. Our long-term relationship with the Advocate Condell Medical Center for teaching and clinical staff, equipment, and clinical education opportunities is unmatched in other collegiate programs. The medical support to our program by Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush through Dr. Jeffrey Mjaanes, MD, who continues to serve us as our Team Physician and ATEP Medical Director has provided us with excellent physician coverage and additional clinical education opportunities. Also, our commitment to carry out the mission of the university within the discipline of athletic training continues to attract prospective students to TIU."
Trinity International University would like to acknowledge and congratulate the Athletic Training Educational Program faculty and staff for their significant contribution to this success.
