Charles A. Bush-Joseph, M.D.

Chicago, March 22, 2011 — Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph, sports medicine specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and head team physician of the Chicago White Sox was recently elected 2012 President of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Team Physician Association, currently serving as 2011 President Elect.

Dr. Bush-Joseph has served as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox and member of the MLB Team Physician Association since 2004. As president, Dr. Bush-Joseph will lead the association in advising the MLB in matters of health and safety of the players in addition to further education for fellow team physicians and team trainers.

"We have been fortunate to have such an esteemed physician cover the White Sox team over the past eight seasons. His expertise in the field of sports medicine as well as his professionalism with the players and coaches has made him one of the most respected physicians in Major League Baseball," said Herm Schneider, Head Athletic Trainer of the Chicago White Sox.

Prior to his election as president of the association, Dr. Bush-Joseph was elected and served as treasurer of the organization from 2008-2009 and was chosen by his peers in the association to serve as Member at Large of the MLB Medical Advisory Board. The Advisory Board, a sub-committee of the Team Physician Association, works directly with the MLB commissioner and his office to ensure the health and safety of the players in both Major and Minor League Baseball.

"I am honored to have been elected to the position of president, and look forward to the upcoming year," said Dr. Bush-Joseph. He will take the position as president on December 3, 2011, and will preside over the annual meetings of the MLB Team Physicians Association in New York at the MLB Park Avenue offices.
