(July 11, 2006, CHICAGO, IL) Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is pleased to announce the addition of two new orthopaedic physicians to our orthopaedic patient care, education and research practice. Johnny L. Lin, M.D. and Jeffrey M. Mjaanes, M.D. joined the group in August.

Lin and Mjaanes are evidence of our ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of orthopaedic care possible," says Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph, Managing Partner of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. "The dedication of these physicians to orthopaedic research also greatly complements our practice mission to lead in the innovative treatment of orthopaedic conditions."
Dr. Lin will join the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Foot and Ankle practice, working along side specialists Dr. George Holmes and Dr. Simon Lee. A medical graduate from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, Dr. Lin completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. His fellowship in surgery of the foot and ankle was completed at the renowned University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Through his affiliation with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, Dr. Lin looks to advance his research in foot and ankle disorders including trauma, arthritis, and fractures.
A medical graduate from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, Madison, WI, Dr. Mjaanes completed his residency in pediatrics at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. During his residency, he was awarded the Aesculapius Award for his work in resident teaching and patient care. Combining his interests in pediatrics and sports medicine, Dr. Mjaanes went on to complete a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. As part of his sports medicine practice, Dr. Mjaanes serves as team physician for the athletic departments of both New Trier High School and North Lawndale High School. His research interests within pediatric sports medicine include studies on anterior knee pain in children and throwing injuries in young athletes.
