Olympic Silver Medalist Participates in PRP Clinical Trial
Dr. Brian Cole, sports medicine specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, was recently featured on NBC 5 Chicago to discuss how the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections may help those with knee pain. The segment follows 1984 Olympic Silver Medalist Bob Berland, who has undergone three injections within a clinical trial conducted by Dr. Cole at Rush University Medical Center. The avid athlete will not know until after the trial whether he received the PRP injections or a placebo, but he has returned to sports in a way he never thought possible before the treatment.
