MOR Surgeons Operate to Repair Tyrus Thomas' Broken Arm

Chicago Bulls forward fractures left forearm
during a weight training session

November 7, 2009

CHICAGO - Chicago Bulls' forward Tyrus Thomas underwent successful surgery today to repair a fractured radius of his left forearm. The surgery was performed at Rush University Medical Center by team physicians Dr. Brian Cole and Dr. John Fernandez, and assisted by Dr. Mark Cohen.

Thomas suffered the injury during a weight training session at the Bulls' morning practice on November 6. He was examined the same day by Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Cole, Chicago Bulls head team physician. X-rays confirmed the injury diagnosis.

Thomas will likely be out of action for 4-6 weeks while the injury heals. He will be reevaluated by MOR physicians on November 10.
