![]() Pediatric Orthopaedics
The goals of the pediatric orthopaedic program at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush are to combine research and clinical expertise to provide the highest quality, most innovative care in a family-centered way and to meet the special needs of children, adolescents, and their families. The section of pediatric orthopaedic surgery is an area of excellence focused on the care of musculoskeletal problems in newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. A holistic family-centered approach is taken in treating all patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems including scoliosis, trauma, birth defects, developmental dysplasia, clubfeet, genetic anomalies, neurologic dysfunction, and walking disorders. It is our philosophy that any condition that affects the child has a dramatic impact on the entire family as well. Dr. Monica Kogan serves as the Pediatric Orthopaedics Program's primary physician. Dr. Kogan has spent the last five years at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland specializing in the treatment of children's broken bones and orthopaedic problems unique to pediatric patients. Other members of the multidisciplinary team include physicians with specialized pediatric training, pediatric physical therapists, pediatric orthotists, and child life specialists.
