Registered Nurses

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Registered Nurses assist physicians with examinations, administer injections and medications, dress wounds and incisions, assist with minor surgery, and maintain medical records. More importantly, our nurses perform a critical role in patient education, effectively communicating the physician's diagnosis and treatment plans. All Registered Nurses are licensed by the state of Illinois. Some of our nurses also are certified in orthopaedic nursing through their specialty organization. If you see the "ONC" (Orthopaedic Nurses Certified) after the nurses' credentials, you'll know that this nurse has sat for volunteering testing and is up to date with specific continuing education requirements.

Nursing at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is more than providing great patient care. It's also about educating the next group of great nurses through Rush University Medical Center. That is why most of our nurses are active in the teaching and supervision of nursing students.
