Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant
Lauren joined MOR in February of 2005 and initially served as the surgery physician assistant at Oak Park Hospital supporting Drs. Craig Della Valle, John Fernandez, Simon Lee, Trish Palmer, Anthony Romeo, Mitchell Sheinkop, Nikhil Verma, and Kathy Weber. She would not only assist in surgery but also conduct preoperative teaching classes for joint replacement patients and hold in-service lectures to help improve inpatient care.
During her tenure at Oak Park Hospital, Lauren performed ER and inpatient consults on a regular basis. She routinely assisted the physicians within the clinic, in addition to holding her own supporting injection and postoperative clinic hours and inpatient rounds. This experience provided her with a background in joint replacement, hand and wrist, shoulder and elbow, foot and ankle, and sports medicine.
Lauren is currently the physician assistant to Simon Lee, MD, in the foot and ankle specialty. She assists in surgeries and provides clinical support. She is also acting as the study coordinator and co-investigator for a research trial involving the use of hyaluronic acid visco-supplementation in the treatment of ankle osteoarthritis.

- Administers steroid, hyaluronic acid and anesthetic injections
- Orders and interprets laboratory tests and imaging studies
- Formulates and diagnoses treatment plans for new and follow-up patients
- Assists with surgical scheduling and coding
- Triage patient phone calls and write prescriptions
- Provides preoperative and postoperative education
