It is Arizona, 80 degrees and the sun is shining.
Monday, March 12 - It is Arizona, 80 degrees and the sun is shining. We just finished up the second set of minor league physicals as most of the Major League roster players are well into spring training games. Forty young players all with the hope of getting to the major leagues. Dr. Bigosinski as well as Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellow, Michael Erickson, MD examined all the players and coaches for orthopedic and medical issues that would impact their ability to play professional baseball. All players are counseled on proper conditioning and training as well as Major League Baseball initiatives on smokeless tobacco and skin cancer issues. One more round of minor league players coming in Tuesday. After this last group of 80 players, it will be time to get back home to Chicago with all the hopes and dreams every spring training brings.
Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph and Dr. Krystian Bigosinski meet with former Sox, now Cub therapist, Ryan Mertz at Sox Spring Training home Camelback Ranch in Glendale Arizona.
