The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) selected Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush hip and knee reconstruction and replacement surgeon,Dr. Craig Della Valle's presentation entitled,Hypoalbuminemia Predicts Joint Infection, Pneumonia, and Readmission After Total Joint Arthroplasty for inclusion in the Best of AAOS presentation.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the association between preoperative hypoalbuminemia, a marker for malnutrition, and complications during the 30 days following total joint arthroplasty.
