Visitor Policy

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we remain committed to delivering the best care possible, while keeping our patients and staff safe. We’ll continue to update this page with the information you need regarding our visitor policies.

COVID-19 Restricted Visitor Policy

In an effort to protect patients, their families, and all of the staff at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, we have adopted a restricted visitor policy. The patient should come alone to all appointments unless a support person is needed. This change applies to all the outpatient clinics and is effective December 23rd, 2021. Exceptions have been made for certain patient groups, including children, as listed below:

Exceptions to the Policy:

  • Those under the age of 18 years old
  • Nurse Case Managers
  • Interpreters and/or Translators
  • Support Persons for those patients who require assistance during the office visit

All patients and support persons will be screened before entering the clinic space. Anyone that answers yes to having symptoms and/or has a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed into the clinic unless their condition requires medical attention. The patient will be asked to reschedule their appointment in 14-days.

For anyone that may want to be part of the patient's visit, we are allowing mobile devices to be used in the exam rooms only once the provider enters the room and with the permission of the provider. This includes Phone Calls, FaceTime, Snapchat Video, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Zoom, and the many other platforms that are available to us currently.
