Orthopedic Program at Rush Ranked Top 10 in the Nation

The orthopedic program at Rush University Medical Center, anchored by Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR), has been ranked No. 9 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in the publication's newly released 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings, placing it firmly among the top 10 orthopedic programs in the United States.
The orthopedic program at Rush has held a top-tier national ranking year after year and continues to be recognized for outcomes, surgical volume, and the depth of its subspecialty expertise across sports medicine, joint replacement, spine, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, and orthopedic trauma.
This recognition reflects our dedication to the patients who trust us to help them move, compete, and live without pain. Through our commitment to innovation, research, and both non-surgical and surgical expertise, the entire MOR team is united in one goal — getting our patients back in the game safely and efficiently.
Rush University Medical Center was also named among the top hospitals in the Chicago area this year, tied for No. 1 overall, and remains a member of the U.S. News Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction held by only 20 hospitals nationwide.
More than 45 fellowship-trained physicians make up MOR, one of the largest and most academically active orthopedic groups in the country.
MOR physicians serve as team physicians for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, among other professional and collegiate teams, and are active in orthopedic research, resident and fellow training, and the development of new surgical techniques, including biologic therapies and 3D-printed implant technology used in complex reconstructive cases.
