Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is excited to announce the addition of Jourdan Cancienne, M.D., to the faculty of the group’s newest clinic in Joliet. Dr. Cancienne will expand the Joliet location’s expertise on orthopedic shoulder, knee and hip injuries, while also contributing to MOR’s ongoing clinical research and practicing regularly in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Cancienne will also be seeing patients at MOR's Naperville location.
Dr. Cancienne is the latest addition to the growing faculty at the MOR location in Joliet, which amplifies the reach of the renowned Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Currently ranked the No. 6 orthopedic provider in the United States and No. 1 in Illinois by U.S. News & World Report, MOR locations in Joliet and across the Chicagoland area expand patients’ access to the leading technologies and treatment techniques used in MOR’s orthopedic partnerships with the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Joffrey Ballet, and others.
Appointments with Dr. Cancienne will be available beginning February 1st.
Dr. Cancienne attended Tufts University as an undergraduate before obtaining his M.D. from Tulane University’s School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery training at the University of Virginia, where he was recognized as resident of the year and won several regional and national awards for his research. Dr. Cancienne then went on to receive advanced specialized training in shoulder surgery, sports medicine and cartilage restoration at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago. During his fellowship at Rush, he served as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Steel and Chicago Fire. He is also actively involved in orthopedic sports medicine societies such as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Cancienne’s treatment philosophy incorporates the latest surgical and non-surgical strategies to improve patient outcomes and help them return to their desired activity level. His presence at the Joliet clinic will expand access to these techniques for residents of Joliet and the surrounding area, elevating the standard of care in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
