Katherine is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Growing up, she spent most of her free time practicing rhythmic gymnastics, running cross country, and jogging on the beach with her dog. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of movement and fitness that continues to shape her approach to patient care today.
Katherine recently earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marquette University. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work at Marquette's Pro Bono Physical Therapy Clinic, where she especially enjoyed treating Spanish-speaking patients. Being able to connect with patients in their preferred language is one of her favorite parts of practicing, and she is always glad for the chance to speak Spanish in the clinic.
One of the highlights of her time in PT school was teaching Pilates at Marquette for two years. As a certified Pilates instructor, Katherine found that leading classes and helping others build strength, confidence, and body awareness through movement had a lasting influence on her approach to patient care.
Outside the clinic, Katherine is a marathon runner (official as of 2026) and has experienced her own share of hip, knee, and ankle injuries along the way. Going through rehabilitation firsthand has only deepened her belief in the power of movement and strength to help people recover and return to the activities they love.
When she isn't treating patients or training for her next marathon, Katherine can usually be found trying a new restaurant, baking something sweet, or talking at length about running. Fellow marathon enthusiasts should be prepared; she is always happy to geek out about training.
