Biography

Byron Ward, MD, is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His research interests include social determinants of health in orthopaedic surgery, total joint arthroplasty, and minimally invasive spine surgery techniques and clinical outcomes. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, weightlifting, traveling, watching old movies, watching Kobe Bryant highlights, playing basketball and pickleball, and searching for the best sushi restaurants in the city. Fun fact: during his summer before residency, Dr. Ward drove 7,000 miles to travel across the United States and also visited Rwanda and Belize. He also coached youth basketball during this time.
