Stephen DeMartini, MD, is originally from Gillespie, Illinois, and enjoys powerlifting, MMA, visiting UNESCO sites, pickleball, and movies. His research interests include health disparities, sports injuries, and patient-reported outcomes. A competitive lifter, he has broken eight Illinois state bench press records in the United States of America Powerlifting (USAPL) federation.
