Joel Williams, MD
Dr. Williams has a unique expertise that encompasses all hip problems. He offers state-of-the-art treatments including hip preservation (open and minimally invasive), cartilage restoration/transplantation, labral and tendon tear surgery, periacetabular and/or femoral osteotomy, minimally invasive direct anterior hip replacement, surgical hip dislocation, hip/pelvis fracture/injury/trauma care in addition to offering multiple options for hip osteonecrosis (avascular necrosis or AVN), hip impingement and hip dysplasia. He works at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago’s premier orthopedic program (US News and World Report ranked #1 in Chicago, #2 in the Midwest, and #8 nationally). In addition to treating the full range of hip problems, Dr. Williams has two other areas of expertise: Leg alignment problems that have resulted from birth (congenital) or developmental issues. Fractures that did not heal properly (malunion and/or nonunion) Dr. Williams’ path to medicine was initially sparked by his parents who worked in Orthotics. He was fascinated my musculoskeletal medicine and decided on medical school. He attended medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. There, he was awarded a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship and spent a year doing basic science research. Dr. Williams did his orthopedic surgery residency at the UC Davis, Sacramento, CA. As a resident, he did a research fellowship and was awarded several grants including one from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association to investigate fracture healing. His research has earned several awards including best paper at 3 meetings. Additionally, he was awarded a traveling fellowship from the AO Foundation to study hip and orthopedic trauma surgery in Chur, Switzerland. After residency, he sub-specialized in orthopedic surgery by completing two fellowships. The first fellowship was in orthopaedic trauma at UC Davis; it covered treatment of trauma (fractures) of the hip/pelvis and leg, as well as osteotomy and leg re-alignment techniques. The second fellowship was in hip surgery in Seattle, WA and was focused on highly specialized hip procedures. Dr. Williams is an active member of the academic hip and orthopedic trauma communities. He is a member of the AO Trauma North America, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Anterior Hip Foundation, and AOA. He has given numerous lectures and presentations regionally, nationally, and internationally, and has been published in many prestigious journals. In his spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, traveling, and reading.
Joshua Blomgren, DO
Dr. Blomgren is a highly experienced sports medicine physician and osteopathic practitioner with a comprehensive focus on treating athletes across various levels. He graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed a Family Practice Residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He further honed his expertise with a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, where he collaborated with physicians from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. During his fellowship, Dr. Blomgren served as a team physician for DePaul University and Trinity International University, offering injury evaluations and providing sideline coverage for football, basketball, and soccer games. Dr. Blomgren is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and also holds certification in Sports Medicine. Currently, he is the Chief Medical Officer and Head Team Physician for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League. He also serves as an official physician for the Chicago Marathon and the head team physician for Willowbrook High School. Johnny L. Lin, MD
Dr. Johnny Lin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of complex foot and ankle disorders. Kathleen Weber, MD, MS
Dr. Weber is the Director of Primary Care/Sports Medicine and Women's Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, where she brings a wealth of expertise in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal issues. She is also the founder and Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Weber’s contributions extend to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and she is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in patient care and teaching. Dr. Weber's involvement in the community is notable; she serves on the board of Girls in the Game and was honored as their Health Champion in 2006. Her academic contributions are significant, with numerous published articles and book chapters reflecting her active role in research. As a former college athlete, Dr. Weber possesses a deep understanding of sports medicine and exercise physiology, which she brings to her clinical practice. Renowned as a leading sports medicine physician, Dr. Weber’s reputation is further enhanced by her remarkable contributions to the treatment of high-level professional athletes. She serves as the head primary care sports medicine team physician for the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and the Chicago White Sox (MLB), as well as the head team physician for the Chicago Force Women's Football team. Kern Singh, MD
Dr. Kern Singh is a globally recognized expert in minimally invasive spinal surgery, known for his pioneering techniques and innovative approach. Julia R. Bruene, MD

Robert Wysocki, MD
Dr. Wysocki specializes in the treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow, across a wide range of traumatic, degenerative, and acquired disorders. Dr. Wysocki graduated from The College of William and Mary and earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Tad L. Gerlinger, MD
COL (Ret) Gerlinger is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). His training includes a Transitional Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center, Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, and a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center. COL (Ret) Gerlinger’s military education includes the Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Army Flight Surgeon Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Navy Undersea Medicine Course, and Airborne and Air Assault School. He is also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. His military deployments include Kosovo with Task Force Falcon, Operation Joint Guardian, and Afghanistan with the 274th Forward Surgical Team (Airborne) and the 936th Forward Surgical Team. He also participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and served with the Norwegian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan. Shane J. Nho, MD, MS
Dr. Nho specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic treatment of the hip, shoulder, and knee. His practice focuses on addressing athletic injuries and preserving joint function through minimally invasive techniques. Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Nho graduated from Northwestern University before pursuing the MD/MS program at Rush Medical College and the Graduate College of Rush University. He completed his surgical internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Weill Cornell Medical College and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He then returned to the Chicago area to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Nho was awarded the Herodicus Society Traveling Fellowship and has trained with leading hip arthroscopists and hip joint preservation surgeons in the United States and Switzerland. Dr. Nho has a particular interest in the arthroscopic treatment of athletic hip injuries, including hip joint preservation surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), hip labral repairs, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, and knee arthroscopy. He serves as the director of the Hip Preservation Center at Rush University Medical Center and is co-head of the Hip Study Group at Rush, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to researching hip joint preservation and clinical outcomes following hip surgery. A hockey enthusiast, Dr. Nho was a member of the Northwestern Men's Ice Hockey Team and currently serves as the head team physician for the Chicago Steel.
