Jorge Chahla, MD, PhD

Jorge Chahla, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and a partner at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, specializing in complex knee, hip, and shoulder procedures and sports injuries. He performs more than 800 procedures a year. His practice focuses on ACL and multiligament reconstruction (MCL, LCL, PCL), meniscus repair and meniscal transplantation, cartilage restoration, patellofemoral instability, hip arthroscopy and labral reconstruction, and rotator cuff repair and shoulder instability surgery.  Dr. Chahla is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and subspecialty board certified in orthopaedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Joshua Blomgren, DO

Dr. Blomgren is a highly experienced sports medicine physician and osteopathic practitioner with a comprehensive focus on treating athletes across various levels. He graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed a Family Practice Residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Julia R. Bruene, MD

Kathleen Weber, MD, MS

In addition to running a busy primary care sports medicine practice at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, Dr. Weber serves as the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine and Women's Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, where she brings a wealth of expertise in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal issues. She is also the founder and Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Weber’s contributions extend to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and she is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in patient care and teaching.  In 2026, she was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame, an honor that is rarely extended to healthcare providers.  She was named one of the 25 “Women of Influence” by the Chicago Business Journal in 2019. Renowned as a leading sports medicine physician, Dr. Weber’s reputation is further enhanced by her remarkable contributions to the treatment of high-level professional athletes. She served for 18 years as the head primary care sports medicine team physician for the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and, since 2004, has served as the head primary care sports medicine team physician for the Chicago White Sox (MLB). Kern Singh, MD

Dr. Kern Singh is a globally recognized expert in minimally invasive spinal surgery, known for his pioneering techniques and innovative approach. He frequently shares his expertise with neurosurgeons and spinal surgeons worldwide, including during recent guest lectures in Saudi Arabia. Robert Wysocki, MD

Dr. Wysocki specializes in the treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow, across a wide range of traumatic, degenerative, and acquired disorders. Dr. Wysocki graduated from The College of William and Mary and earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Shane J. Nho, MD, MS

Dr. Nho specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic treatment of the hip, shoulder, and knee. His practice focuses on addressing athletic injuries and preserving joint function through minimally invasive techniques.  Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Nho graduated from Northwestern University before pursuing the MD/MS program at Rush Medical College and the Graduate College of Rush University. He completed his surgical internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Weill Cornell Medical College and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He then returned to the Chicago area to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Nho was awarded the Herodicus Society Traveling Fellowship and has trained with leading hip arthroscopists and hip joint preservation surgeons in the United States and Switzerland.  Dr. Nho has a particular interest in the arthroscopic treatment of athletic hip injuries, including hip joint preservation surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), hip labral repairs, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, and knee arthroscopy. He serves as the director of the Hip Preservation Center at Rush University Medical Center and is co-head of the Hip Study Group at Rush, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to researching hip joint preservation and clinical outcomes following hip surgery.  A hockey enthusiast, Dr. Nho was a member of the Northwestern Men's Ice Hockey Team and currently serves as the head team physician for the Chicago Steel. Tad L. Gerlinger, MD

COL (Ret) Gerlinger is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement.  He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). His training includes a Transitional Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center, Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, and a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center.  COL (Ret) Gerlinger’s military education includes the Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Army Flight Surgeon Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Navy Undersea Medicine Course, and Airborne and Air Assault School. He is also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College.  His military deployments include Kosovo with Task Force Falcon, Operation Joint Guardian, and Afghanistan with the 274th Forward Surgical Team (Airborne) and the 936th Forward Surgical Team. He also participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and served with the Norwegian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan.  His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, and several campaign medals. He has also received the Combat Medical Badge twice and multiple international parachutist badges. He is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit and has been awarded the Surgeon General's 'A' Proficiency Designator.  COL (Ret) Gerlinger served as Program Director of the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) Orthopaedic Surgery Residency from 2008 to 2013 and as Chief of Adult Reconstruction at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). SAMMC is the DoD's only Level I Trauma Center. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as an Associate Professor at USUHS.  COL (Ret) Gerlinger is a Past President of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and Program Director for the SOMOS/AAOS/OTA Disaster Response Course. Xavier Simcock, MD

Dr. Xavier Simcock specializes in surgery of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Denver, Colorado, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Washington University in St. Louis, where he received Sigma Xi research honors in biology. His advanced training includes completing two specialty fellowships sponsored by the ASSH: one in hand and microsurgery, and another in shoulder surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.  His contributions to the field include authoring book chapters on upper extremity fracture fixation and reconstruction, and publishing numerous scientific articles on upper extremity conditions affecting both adults and adolescents.
