
Physical Therapist
Numerous orthopedic injures as a student-athlete led Curtis Sargent to his career in physical therapy. After receiving his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Western Illinois University in Macomb, he went on to earn a doctoral degree in the Physical Therapy Professional program at Washington University in St. Louis. Curtis professional interests mirror those of his own athletic career - he takes a special interest in helping athletes recover from ankle and shoulder injuries. He is very proud to be a part of the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush team and strives to provide quality care to all his patients.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Examines patients' medical histories
- Evaluates patients' functional mobility and strength
- Develops and administers treatment plans
- Treatment includes both manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises
- Instructs patients on individualized exercise programs
- Communicates regularly with physician on patient progress
