An Update from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush

We want to assure you that, in unison with the principles of Rush University Medical Center and national recommendations, Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) will continue to provide you with the highest quality orthopedic care while practicing the principles of social distancing and preventative measures to curtail the transmission of Covid-19.

Our priority is to protect the health and well-being of our community, staff and patients, while still providing care to those who need it most. Our goal over the next few weeks is to limit individual contact to only those clinical scenarios that require it until we can resume normal operations. We will assess these time frames daily and weekly as the situation evolves. We will continue to practice social distancing to protect those around us while continuing to provide complete care to those that would otherwise be compromised by any delay in that care.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your orthopedic care.

Elective Surgery

All elective surgical procedures will be postponed until May 1st, 2020. Patients already scheduled for surgery on or prior to May 1st, 2020, will be contacted by their provider to reschedule their surgical procedure to a later date. Please anticipate a call from your provider or contact them at 877-632-6637.

Patients who present with urgent conditions requiring surgery may be scheduled before May 1st, 2020 on a case-by case basis after discussions with their provider.

Through May 1st, 2020, existing scheduled patients at MOR will be transitioned to our telemedicine platform (live video interaction with the provider on one’s smart phone or computer). Please anticipate a call from your provider or contact them at 877-632-6637 to request either a telemedicine appointment or to reschedule your in-person appointment for after May 1st, 2020.

New prospective patients who would like to schedule an appointment should call 877-632-6637 or request here. If they wish to be evaluated prior to May 1st, 2020, they will be scheduled for a telemedicine appointment.

Urgent Care

If at the time of the telemedicine evaluation the clinical team determines that there is an urgent issue, patients may be scheduled to undergo any necessary testing or treatment (x-ray, MRI, bracing, slings, therapy, injections or surgery). When necessary, patients may be seen by their provider at one of our existing offices that are open for urgent care.

Urgent care appointments are available at the locations below Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

To schedule an urgent care appointment, please call 877-632-6637.
