Physical therapy is an effective way to manage pain as well as an important part of the rehabilitation process following an injury or surgical treatment.
Customized Treatment Plan
At Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, our team works collaboratively to develop a customized treatment plan aimed at helping restore a patient's function, improve mobility, and relieve pain.
Physical therapy starts with an examination of the patient's medical history and subsequent tests and measurements of the patient's strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function. The physical therapist then works to develop a comprehensive treatment plan with the goal of improving how an individual functions at work and at home.
Our physical therapists are trained to treat a variety of conditions, including:
Acute and chronic pain | Muscle strains and sprains |
Arthritis pain | Orthopedic injuries |
Ankle and foot injuries | Overuse injuries |
Back and neck pain | Personal and auto injuries |
Dizziness and balance deficits | Pre- and post-surgical conditions |
Hand trauma and upper extremity injuries | Repetitive stress injuries |
Hip and knee injuries | Shoulder and elbow injuries |
Joint replacement | Sports injuries |
Leg injuries and knee pain | Work-related injuries |
